Everyone knows the struggle when on vacation and trying to workout. It can be tough to keep up with your workout routine, there is either no time to workout, or where you’re staying doesn’t have a gym. But this blog is going to hopefully give you a few exercises to do while traveling and some incredibly easy to travel with equipment. The best item to take with you while traveling are resistance bands, they are incredibly lightweight and take up very little space making them perfect to pack into a backpack or suitcase. Another great thing about resistance bands is that you can have multiple different bands all with different resistance levels, meaning you can adjust the resistance for different exercises or workout in a group with varying fitness levels. Some great exercises you can do with resistance bands are bicep curls, shoulder pull-apart, clamshells, lunges and tricep kickbacks just to name a few. Another great item to bring with you is the suspension trainer. The suspension trainer is another lightweight compact piece of equipment that is easy to travel with, all you need is a place to hang the trainer and then you use your bodyweight to get a challenging and effective core workout in, on top of the increase in mobility, flexibility and strengthening up the other muscles in the upper and lower body depending on the exercises you do. Core slider discs are another great item to bring with you as they are the smallest and most lightweight piece of equipment you can find, and they also are double sided so they can be used on carpet or hardwood making them perfect to just get in a thorough core workout from the comfort of your room. Some exercises you can do with the suspension trainer are the row, squat, chest press, chest fly and the kneeling tricep press. The final piece of equipment we’ll go over in this blog is the yoga mat. An incredibly lightweight and easy to pack piece of equipment that you can use your phone to put on a yoga lesson, you can also use it to stretch and stay flexible after a long day of traveling, it can also be used as a base for other exercises you do with resistance bands.
