Nenagh Ormand RFC, a well-established rugby club with a proud tradition of player development, undertook a complete overhaul of their outdated gym facility. With a focus on maximising available space and creating a high-performance training environment, the club set out to modernise their strength and conditioning area to better meet the needs of their players. The goal was clear: design a functional, efficient space that supports athlete development while reflecting the club’s ambition and commitment to excellence.
During the planning phase, our design team worked closely with Nenagh Ormand RFC to understand the specific training needs of their players and the limitations of the existing space. A key decision was to place power racks centrally within the room, allowing athletes to train on both sides simultaneously. This dual-access setup not only maximised floor space but also improved training flow, enabling multiple players to work efficiently without crowding or waiting for equipment. A 3D design was made before any installation took place which allowed equipment to be moved easily on the design rather than when it was installed.

Key Equipment
To complement the smart layout, they selected high-quality, performance-driven equipment designed to withstand the demands of a competitive rugby environment. Custom-branded benches with the club’s logo added a strong sense of identity, while name plates and wooden platform inserts provided a premium, personalised finish to each training station. Overhead, hexagonal LED lighting was installed to create a bold visual impact and enhance the modern feel of the space. These custom elements not only elevated the look of the gym but reinforced a culture of professionalism and pride among players.
Installation
The full installation was completed over the course of five days by a team of three experienced installers, ensuring precision and attention to detail throughout the process. From the careful assembly of custom pieces to final layout adjustments, the team worked efficiently to deliver a seamless transformation. The result is a top-class training facility that not only looks impressive but functions at a high level—allowing more players to train at once without compromising space or safety. The upgraded gym has already made a noticeable impact, with increased usage, improved training flow, and a renewed sense of pride among players and coaching staff alike.
